The original Post Office was turned into this state of the art Salon & Spa in association with Reis Design, the project involved substantial structural and building works with the introduction of a dedicated client access way to the basement spa via a very intricate steel staircase and walkway with a mezzanine level over the ground floor to maximise the height of the unit.
The surveying of this area and the manufacture of all the steel framework had to be so precise as we were maximising every bit of space available and as the unit was originally on one level with an unusable basement this element of the project was the making of it.
The armoured plate glass shopfront set within the original stone framing brought the perfect blend of a grand old building meeting the modern concept.
Internally we blended a whole range of materials to create this exceptional salon, seamless glass balustrades, engineered hardwood floors, pine veneered boarded ceilings with lighting troughs, bamboo wallpaper finishes and of course a vast amount of bespoke furniture/joinery.
Around the building we left certain walls completely untouched which kept elements of the buildings heritage and also created a rugged industrial feel.
